Festival of St. Pelagio

The last weekend of August in Novigrad is the Feast of St. Pelagio. According to the legend of St. Pelagio was raised by a priest from Novigrad and during the persecution of Christians he showed great faith and determination. In the end, he was tortured and killed, but because of his actions, he remains the protector of our city to this day. Feast of St. Pelagio revives the city every year and delights all visitors with its rich offer. From August 25 to 28, a diverse sport, cultural and entertainment-musical program was prepared, all accompanied by a rich food and wine offer. With this festival, the citizens of Novigrad welcome and celebrate a successful season with lots of concerts and good food.

You can enjoy concerts by famous Croatian musicians at three locations in the old town at the same time. The city offers over 10 concerts for everyone's taste and enjoyment until late into the night.

In addition, local and foreign guests can enjoy a rich selection of fresh and traditional food at stands located along Novigrad's Mandrač and Porporela.

Feast of St. Pelagio traditionally includes a wide sports program in which almost all Novigrad sports clubs participate through tournaments and sports meetings on the city grounds, and the Điro di Cittanova, a traditional bicycle race for all cyclists, is very attractive.

Novigrad also offers a rich offer for children. With workshops and interesting performances, even your little ones will not be bored.

Every year on Porporela, midnight is welcomed, when the eyes of all present guests of the city will be fixed on the sky due to the always magnificent fireworks.
